🎓 Who’s Attending?
If you’re arriving a bit earlier for the Insects.Plus Congress and looking for something unique to experience in the region – we have a local gem for you: the Cloppenburg Open-Air Museum (Museumsdorf Cloppenburg).
Located right in the heart of the town, this museum is one of the oldest and largest open-air museums in Germany. Spread across 20 hectares, it brings together more than 50 historical buildings from rural Northern Germany – including authentic farmhouses, mills, workshops, a village school and even a small church.
You can walk through centuries of rural life and craftsmanship, observe traditional tools and techniques, and get a sense of how food, farming and everyday life evolved long before automation and industry. Many houses are brought to life with hands-on exhibitions and live demonstrations (depending on the day).
🕘 Opening hours: 09:00 – 18:00 (daily, including weekends)
🎟️ The museum is within walking distance or a short taxi ride from most accommodations in Cloppenburg.

Whether you’re curious about regional history, want to clear your mind in nature, or are simply looking for something to do before Monday’s opening session – this is a great place to start your Insects.Plus experience.
